Craig Witthaus has a quirky sense of humor,
a passion for sailing and creative streak that all come together when he draws,
paints and pokes fun at family and friends with cartoons in his coveted "Craig Cards"!
His artistic talents were evident at a young age and he was encouraged to pursue several
mediums in his college coursework at the University of Oregon. In recent years,
he has settled on oil. He maintains his best critic is identical
twin brother Marc, and looks forward to collaborating on future pieces with him
when they can both find the time!
Craig is a life long resident of the White Bear Lake area, and has been sailing/racing
since he was 5 years old. He is drawn to lake themes and his sailing experience shows
in the authentic design of the boats and "set" of the sails in his work. He enjoys
the lake and boating in all four seasons, and often uses that as a theme in his paintings.
While Craig inches toward more full time creating and painting, he spends most of
his time teaching and consulting Management, Human Resources and Organizational
Behavior. Given the plight of corporate America today, you can see why a sense of humor
and creative streak is important in BOTH parts of Craig's life!
