Deborah Voyda Rogers medium of choice
is pastel with a concentration on animals particularly horses and dogs. She is
an avid horse woman with a record of significant achievements. Nature is the
inspiration for her landscape paintings. Painting subjects that have an
inner meaning and a connection are what truly inspire her. Bold color,
shapes, and knowledge of her subject matter are Deborah's way of conveying
movement and emotion. Deborah has taught on-going classes in watercolor,
drawing and pastel. She is also a workshop and trade show instructor.
Deborah's most recent award is from The Lake Area Pastel Society Spring Show.
She received a Merit Award for the painting "Weisman Museum".
Deborah's artistic background started with a twenty-five year career in visual
design creating window and retail displays. That creativity revealed that her
real talent is fine art. The Best of the Twin Cities Award was presented by
the 'Minneapolis St. Paul' magazine in recognition of her visual design.
Deborah's paintings have a realistic quality with an element of abstraction
leaving something to the imagination of the viewer. Her ability to convey her
emotion to the viewers of her paintings is evident. Along with Uptown Images
Deborah is currently represented by Manos Gallery in Tubac, Arizona and the
Richeson Gallery and Art School in Kimberly, Wisconsin. She is a member of
the Degas Pastel Society, Lake Country Pastel Society, White Bear Center for
the Arts and a supporting member of the American Academy of Equine Art.
