Helen J. Moreland is relatively new to
the art world, 1997, but has shown and bred dogs since 1974. She has owned
numerous conformation AKC Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Border Terrier and
West Highland White Terrier champions and one Greyhound champion. She has
owned and been active in helping to place retired track Greyhounds. Her primary
breed has always been the Wheaten Terrier. Presently she is Vice President
of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America, Inc..
In the past, Helen spent her weekends
and holidays working for professional dog handlers as they traveled throughout
the Midwest showing varoius breeds of dogs in all AKC Groups. She's been to
the Westminister Dog Show and judges' seminars in NYC on several occasions
with these handlers and has even viewed terriers in Holland with them. Ms.
Moreland has been a breeder judge of Wheaten Terriers at numerous SCWTC Sweepstakes
in such places as St. Louis MO, Chicago IL, and Philadelphia PA>
Her present cat, Ripley, would be quite
offended if he thought she didn't include him in her curriculum vitae.
In her other life, Helen has been a Geriatric
Nurse Practitioner for Health Partners since 1975. She has the privilege of
providing medical care for residents in a variety of nursing homes and assisted
living facilities.
Helen likes to paint and/or do pastel
of animals alone or with people.
