These cast iron works are "story vessels." Each one tells a different story to the viewer. It is up to the viewer to decipher what is being said.

Each vessel is a one of a kind. The process that I created to cast these pieces is as unique as the pieces themselves. Basically, the way that I make these pieces is by creating a solid vase that I can cast a resin bonded silica sand around in a cylindrical form, (this is like adding super glue to the sand so it becomes solid.) Next I cast the molten iron into the sand mold filling it up to the top and letting it sit for a few seconds to harden on the exterior sand wall. Then I dump most of the iron back out and proceed to roll the mold around on the ground to slush cast the rest of the molten iron. This is why each piece is so unique and impossible to duplicate exactly.

What do they say to you?
